Overview

Vision: SMI exists to develop young men for community engagement, the experience to lead a sports ministry, and to see the opportunity that athletics gives for sharing Christ.

Goals:

  • $10 per hour (May slightly change based on camper participation)

4. Potential, Experiences & Roles

 

These interns are interested in applying sports ministry to a coaching role and also growing as sports ministry leaders. The intern will have the opportunity to run skill stations, concept workshops, and invest in individualize instruction.

The media team is in charge of most of the SMI online activity. From providing graphics and video content for the Instagram and Twitter profiles to designing the website and email updates, the media team is the creative mind behind the SMI social interactions!

The admin interns will assist the SMI coaching staff in all parts of ministry. This will include travel coordination, league and team communication, uniform inventory and distribution for each game, game day set up,The admin interns will also assist with administrative tasks for the program. *Must be willing to run coaching sessions throughout the summer season.

The interns will have an opportunity to help officiate summer league games. This will be on a rotation basis. They will learn the basic of game calling and managing a youth sports game with integrity, good communication and control.

The intern will have the opportunity to coach a team of youth players. This could be as head coach or assistant coach. The skills of communication, enthusiasm, and instruction will be learned. The goal of this opportunity is to make a great impact for Christ on the players and the families involved.
